“It’s a cute movie. Really one of my favorite things was the final song that reminded me very much of early 1970s Bollywood. They’re all lip-syncing happily to voices that couldn’t possibly be theirs, and it doesn’t matter. Great job on the feel-good ending…I had this love-hate relationship with the plot. Sometimes it felt like a little too much was going on and it started to get a little all-over-the-place.”

“The entire thing was super-captivating. There were some action sequences, fights, that were a little overblown,almost RRR-ish or old fashioned martial arts movies…It’s really the performances that carry the movie, and it’s really the old people. They’re just outstanding. They’re really nuanced. I was a lot more interested in their lives than I was in the main plot of the film. It was just amazing because of their charismatic performances.

“It is about this very frugal man wo buys a toaster for a wedding gift and then the wedding gets canceled. He will do everything to try and get that toaster back, but of course it’s lost and he goes on a pretty big adventure…The humor is indeed black. This is a black comedy and it delivers the goods on that. The humor is almost Seinfeldian at times. It’s like Seinfeld meets Murder on the Orient Express.
