BONEYARDS is back from the dead to rock your underworld.  Four new post-Fringe shows in October just in time for Halloween. 10/17/13, 10/20, 11/2 and 11/3. Only 20 seats per show, get ‘em before they’re gone.

Last night’s final audience was too spooked to Ouija!  After much begging and cajoling I got one volunteer, Laura, to come forward (usually there are 3) and I agreed to sit at the board with her which is fine except it keeps me from firing up the spirit box when the time comes.  I got it warmed up and then Karen from Brooklyn finally screwed up her courage and took over for me.  She and Laura spoke to a shy one who mentioned the BLACK LIGHTS in the room (there are many which I use in the show).   Were the others (the 12 spirits I now call the Synagogue Saints) there?  YES.  When I asked what it thought of the show it quickly moved back and forth from YES to NO over and over again, which I took to mean a mixed review (I always love this question.  Responses have ranged from FANTASTIC to GO TO HELL).

I turned on the P-SB7 spirit box and let it roll for 6 and half minutes while we continued the Ouija seance on the other side of the room.   Below is 1 minute of video highlights with a transcript and my afterthoughts.  As usual the EVPs have been slowed down but keeping the original pitch, and volume has been boosted. The spirits (or subconscious ideomotor impulses depending on your beliefs) were active last night, friends.  Another sold out show, turning people away at the door, we crammed in as many as would safely fit. Apologies if you were one of those who didn’t make it inside. Please buy your ticket now to the final show this Sunday at 2pm because it is probably going to sell out.

Terrific Ouija action last night and simultaneous interaction with the spirit box. A standout evening, 2nd only to the fireworks during the 2nd show.  2 audience volunteers, Susan and Brian, started us out out on the board with audience volunteer Andrea helping me out as questioner. We got off to a slow start but soon the planchette was warmed up and zipping all over the place.  What did he/she think of the show? FANTASTIC.  Love it. You never know with this question.  During the run of the show it’s ranged from IT WAS OK to WEW to GO TO HELL to I ALMOST CRIED.)  Do you know anyone in the audience?  YES.  Who?   LISA.  There was indeed a Lisa in the audience who looked a little rattled at being fingered by a ghost.  How do you know her?  FRIEND.  Lisa was in the dark.  How exactly do you know her?  SCHOOL.  Lisa was still at a loss so we moved along. Would you like to speak with us electrically?  YES.

Outstanding audience and a sold out show so the spirits (or subconscious ideomotor impulses depending on your beliefs) and I were thrilled. The Ouija board volunteers included questioner Steve and a married couple, Gary and Tiresa, personing the board. Normally I wouldn’t name names but Steve I think will be okay with it, and the other two, well, the spirits call their names anyway on the video below.

On the Ouija board we spoke to a non-native English speaker who died at 29 in 1892 (3 years before this building was here) but he/she isn’t from the neighborhood; only been haunting this space for a QUARTER [century], 25 YEARS.  Did she like the show? YES (this question has gotten a variety of responses, from WEW to IT WAS OK).  Would he/she like to speak to us electrically?  YES.

At that I hustled across the room and fired up the P-SB7 spirit box  and ran back to check on G and T.   G. let us know he had chills, which I let him know meant there was definitely something in the room with us and that it was standing nearby.  We asked the board was he/she in the room with us? YES, standing to my immediate LEFT, came the reply.  The volunteers were also amazed that the Ouija board spelled T.’s name exactly right even though it’s got an unusual spelling, and it spelled her maiden name letter for letter, too.  Their minds were truly blown according to their remarks to me afterward, and their goosebumps remained.
