What: BEAUTIFUL ZION: A BOOK OF THE DEAD
When: Wed 9/7, Thurs 9/8, Fri 9/9, Sat 9/10, Wed 9/14, Thur 9/15, Fri 9/16 and Sat 9/17, at 8pm sharp. Seating begins at 7:45pm.
Where: Philadelphia, PA. The Community Education Center (CEC) on 35th and Lancaster in the Blue Grotto art installation in the dark, dank, haunted cellar. By subway take the blue Market-Frankford line to 34th, walk up the hill on 34th to Lancaster, turn left and walk two blocks. The CEC is a large brick building on your left (a former Quaker meeting house built in 1837). Limited PARKING is also available in the rear parking lot.
Tickets: $20, purchased only in advance through the Fringe Festival website, http://www.livearts-fringe.org/. Seating is limited (only 16 seats per show!) and no tickets will be sold in person at the door.

In my favorite CCD [Confraternity of Christian Doctrine] class growing up, our instructor totally had us make a ouija board out of a pizza box and play with it in class. I can’t remember what the point was, but we had to promise not to tell anybody. See what this show is making me confess?!
Jeffrey promises multiple endings, ghost visitations, audience invovlement in his occultish activity, and the secret to human happiness. I think the secret is Michter’s bourbon, but I can only confirm that with a visit to Jeffrey’s one-man show at West Philly’s Community Education Center, in the Blue Grotto room. If the secret’s not Michter’s, my weltanshauung will be upset.
