Welcome

Hi, I'm Jeffrey Stanley. I live in Philadelphia. This is my blog. I'm a screenwriter, playwright, filmmaker, performer and essayist, Legacy Fulbright Alumni Ambassador and formerFulbright-Nehru Scholar, during which time I conducted historical film, theatre and political research in India where I have traveled extensively.

I currently teach screenwriting and related courses as an Adjunct faculty at my alma mater NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the Tisch Open Arts and Goldberg Dramatic Writing departments, and as an Adjunct faculty at Drexel University Westphal College of Media Arts & Design in the Performing Arts and Cinema & TV Departments. I once taught a course I created, Theatre History for Actors, at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.

Many years ago, screenwriter Joe Vinciguerra and a few other close friends in college started calling me Jefe Von Stanley. It’s pure nonsense. The nickname stuck. This is Jefe’s House.

My family and I enjoy model rocketry as a hobby. I also collect vintage medicine bottles and display them in an antique medicine cabinet, just another way to engage with history and pop culture.
