7/26/14 Boneyards Seance Transcript

Plane crashes are all the rage right now so I wasn’t surprised when the two audience volunteers using the Ouija board got the word PLANE right out of the chute and then the planchette kept pointing to the sun and moon icons on the board’s lower corners (sky symbols). Can you say, subconscious ideomotor impulse?

However, the board then proceeded to spell out apparent gibberish. I stress apparent. Bear with me. A selection of the numbers and phrases it kept spelling out over and over:

Cubana Flight 9646. This Ilyushin 62M CU-T1281 crashed on 9/3/89 and killed all 126 passengers and 45 on the ground.

Did a Cubana Flight 9646 victim speak to my audience through a Ouija board this past Saturday night?

Plane crashes are all the rage right now so I wasn’t surprised when the two audience volunteers using the Ouija board got the word PLANE right out of the chute and then the planchette kept pointing to the sun and moon icons on the board’s lower corners (sky symbols).  Can you say,  subconscious ideomotor impulse?

However, the board then proceeded to spell out apparent gibberish after the word PLANE.  I stress apparent. Bear with me. A selection of the numbers and phrases it kept spelling out over and over:

  1281

6 TO M (“Could this mean 6 2 M?” an audience member asked.)

1989

3 1989

MUHA.

I quickly shut down this seeming dud of a seance to wrap up the show and get my audience outta that crypt-like coal cellar and into some fresh air.  The next day I received an email from my die-hard (see how I did that?) fan Joe about Cubana flight 9646:  “I made a small leap in assuming, at least, that ‘6TOM’ might  also be ’62M,’ so  I did a web search and found http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=19890903-1.   Things to note:

 “Plane Registration #CU-T1281

Date of Accident:  3 September 1989

Aircraft type:     Ilyushin-II-62M

Aircraft crashed immediately after takeoff from Havana-Jose Marti International Airport (HAV/MUHA).”

I don’t know what to say.  You tell me.  This seeming Ouija gibberish turned out to be non-cryptic, decidedly specific, and left me floored.

Likewise the spirit box, which was running simultaneous to the Ouija session, had little to say, but what it did say — what they said, as there were 3 distinct voices — was equally brief and pointed.

Here are the only discernible words out of 3-and-half minutes of static. As usual I have slowed them down to 50%, maintained the original pitch, and applied mild noise reduction:

Transcript:

“How’s that for remarkable?”

“Havana. Cubana.”

“Who didn’t hurt?”

  1. Truly amazing. and a great deal OF FUN…AND TO THINK, I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE ON THE OUIGI BOARD.

  2. I can’t remember if I had shared the last contact we had with the ouija board that night but I thought I should tell you about it again just in case. Do you remember how the board spelled out the word plane and we were trying to get it to specify what kind of plane it meant? We asked it if it meant a plane of existence, or a plane of thought, or if they were flying on a plane. (Bear in mind that at this time the idea of a possible plane crash connection had not been made). The board didn’t respond to our questions, the activity just went null. After 5 min. or so of nothing, you went to the front and started wrapping the performance up. We stayed back there and toyed some more with the unresponsive board but all the planchette wanted to point at was the bottom right hand corner of the board or it pointed far down that corner, off the board, at me. Now, printed on the bottom right corner of your board, the place the spirit seemed stuck on, was some kind of star or moon design. I kept asking if this meant the spirit was a star, or from the sky, or maybe it was sitting on a star…Then, the planchette moved to the letter “D”. This was followed by a “U”, then “M”, “B”, “A”, “S”. There was no further contact but I can guess what it was spelling out without the final “S”. How insanely appropriate! I was being a total dumbass! I just wanted to tell you that story in case I had not done so before. There are some pretty funny spirits in that basement.
