“Tune in for a Big Time” with 40,000 Subscribers

Classic Americana meets Indian cinema mash-up as we extend our deepest thanks to our 40,000+ Youtube subscribers in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, the US, Kazakhstan, the UK, and welcoming Germany, for your support.

We had fun making this celebration video that’s a one-of-kind mix of my roots to remember my mom who passed away this year and who grew up listening to the Grand Ole Opry country music radio/TV show from childhood onward, and our love of Indian cinema including honoring Asha Bhosle who also passed away this year.

The music is a 19th century folk song about a train, “Wabash Cannonball,” which has been recorded by many singers over the years with slightly changing lyrics, so we decided we could change them, too. The banjo music is from an old 78rpm record from the 1940s performed by The Folkcraft Country Dance Orchestra; hence, we tried to modify our vocal tracks in post-production to match the old sound.

We remain heartened by cinema’s power to cross borders and to unite during these divisive times around the globe. We’re glad you’re still having fun watching us have fun.
